About NetWorthy Publishing
Untainted financial intelligence
Our Team
The content of NetWorthy Publishing is created and edited by Matthew W. Goff (Matt). Matt currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer for a rapidly growing Registered Investment Advisory firm and Family Office. His love of finance and investing was ignited in the late 90’s while earning an MBA. After a decade of work as a corporate employee in finance and account management roles, he took a bold leap into full time personal finance in 2008, just as the “Great Financial Crises” was unfolding. That path has included launching as a struggling insurance agent and financial advisor, evolving to comprehensive financial planning, expanding into asset allocation, portfolio management, and ultimately advising some of the most successful families across the country.
Prior to graduate school Matt worked for 3 years as a broadcast news producer in Texas. That journalistic instinct to investigate, validate, and communicate truth never faded. Now, with wealth management insights and an insider’s view of financial services, Matt curates NetWorthy Publishing to be a source of unbiased and high impact education that will help you make better decisions and avoid mistakes.
Matt has been married to Alexandra Urrea Goff since 1997. Alexandra serves as the Executive Publisher of this site. Together they navigated the financial perils of leaving salaried jobs to build a business and raise a family. With their kids both out of the house and thriving on their own, it was time to launch this effort and give back. Matt and Alexandra deliver the content for NetWorthy Publishing not only as subject matter experts, but as a family that has lived and learned these lessons firsthand. They live in Austin, Texas and prioritize traveling with family and friends in their free time.

Our Mission
NetWorthy Publishing wants to help you make better financial decisions which can lead to a more prosperous and fulfilling life.
The internet is saturated with financial education and commentary, yet much of it falls short of being truly helpful. We seek to elevate this material offering insights untainted by dogmatic adherence to any specific products, institutions, or ideologies.
Navigating personal wealth management through standard online searches can lead you down a path cluttered with oversimplified, misleading, and manipulative content. This includes everything from so-called financial "hacks" written by amateurs to biased materials from established institutions that cleverly disguise the true incentive—think their prosperity, not yours.
At NetWorthy Publishing, we stand apart by grounding our content in proven principles, strategies, and decades of experience directly assisting hundreds of families. Our commitment is to provide this resource untainted by financial incentive. We don’t sell products, ads, subscriptions, or share your information.
As you will learn, you should consider what our incentives truly are.
Our Why
Why do this if not for profit?
Because we want to give back.
It’s actually not unusual. People who gain substantial expertise that is valuable to a larger community are often compelled to give back by sharing their insights—especially once they have achieved personal financial security. In fact, most of this material is borrowed from such sources—Charlie Munger, Warren Buffett, Ben Franklin, etc. Historically, experts have turned to books, media appearances, or teaching to disseminate their knowledge. We’ve chosen a website as our medium, allowing us to maintain a dynamic library of current, actionable insights that can evolve over time.
In truth, this endeavor is not without personal benefit. Publicly sharing my thoughts and strategies, I challenge myself to rigorously assess their validity. Publishing keeps my thinking and communication skills sharp. Additionally, the material can be leveraged in my work with clients and colleagues. While NetWorthy Publishing may indirectly lead to new client relationships or financial opportunities, our intention is to educate and empower individuals in the financial aspects of their lives.
